Alene Phillips Holaway, 94 of the Hopewell Community, passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Hanceville Nursing Home.
Mrs. Holaway was born February 15, 1924 in Blount County to William Thomas Phillips and Stella Mae Fortenberry Phillips. She was a homemaker and lived in the Hopewell community most of her. Her husband, William Arvin Holaway preceded her in death March 8, 2002.
She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holaway is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Gwen Ayers and Bobby, Judie G. Hodges and Mitch and Kathy H. Wasley and Joe; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her sister: Cressa Holaway. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Arvin Holaway; her son: William Jerry Holaway; her brothers: William Phillips and Floyd Phillips and her sisters: Mamie Maze and Effie Johnson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday March 16, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with brother: Greg Stone, officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery attended by the family only, with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Sam Wasley, Scott Hodges, Travis Hodges, Dennis Ayers and Daniel Lee.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Barnett, Corey Hyman, Drake Hodges, Dakota Abernathy and Brandon Ayers.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday March 16, 2018 prior to the service.
