ALEA Issues Statewide Alert For Missing Decatur Man Suffering From Alzheimer’s

DECATUR-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has issued a Missing Senior Person Alert for James Robert Elliott.

According to Decatur Police Elliott was last seen on October 11. Elliott is 5’9 165lbs with brown eyes and black hair.  He was wearing blue jeans and a brown shirt and could be driving a 1998 black Ford Explorer Alabama tag 52A44Z1.

Elliott was last seen leaving hs home on 11th Avenue NW in Decatur on October 11.

The Decatur Police asked for the public’s help in locating Elliott earlier this week.  ALEA issued a statewide alert today.

Statement issued by the Decatur Police on October 12:

“On the morning of October 11th, 2016, 72-year-old Alzheimer’s patient James Robert Elliott Jr was reported missing from his home on 11th Ave. NW in Decatur.
Elliott drives a black 1998 Ford Explorer 4 door Tag number (52A44Z1). A possible destination for Elliott is unknown. Elliot is 5’9 165lbs. brown eyes and black hair. If any contact is made please notify the Decatur Police Department at (256) 341-4660.”
