JACKSON COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports an arrest for DUI after investigation of a aingle-vehicle accident on July 26. According to records the driver of the vehicle is a police officer:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, has resulted in the arrest of a Rainsville woman.
Mercedes L. Rugart, 32, was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) when the 2021 Chevy Tahoe that she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert, an utility pole and overturned.
The crash occurred on Alabama 35 near Ryan Street, in Jackson County. Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.”
