Albert was born on August 26, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Carrie Lee Long Holt. He attended Withrow High School through the 11th grade and later earned his GED. Proud to serve, he joined the U.S. Air Force and dedicated 12 years to his country. Following his military service, Albert became a valued member of the US Postal Service in Cincinnati, where he worked as a Bulk Mail Technician from 1990 until his well-earned retirement in 2020.
To those who knew him best, Albert was the steadfast patriarch of the family, a role he embraced with unwavering devotion. His quiet, yet solid strength was the anchor that kept his loved ones grounded.
Albert was a music connoisseur with an extensive collection across all genres. His love for college football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, was known by all. He loved to travel and often treated his mother and family to lavish vacations. He particularly enjoyed Miami and riding the train. A major history buff, Albert was unbeatable at Trivial Pursuit. Above all, he treasured time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
In 2022, Albert relocated to Huntsville, AL, when his health began to decline. He became a vital member of his community and family there. The family is very grateful to Annice’s Companion Care and Divine Personal Home Care LLC for the excellent care and devotion given to him.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alexander and Christopher. He is survived by his brothers, Garland (Ruby) Holt and Michael Long; his sister, Jeannie (Tony) Harris; his sisters-in-law, Tondra Holt and Janet Partee; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
