Albert Ray Pickard, age 69, Bear Creek, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his home. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from sales in the manufactured housing industry. He was inducted into the Marion County Athletic Hall of Fame, avid supporter of high school basketball, member of Twin Pines Country Club, where he was an avid golfer, and a dedicated Alabama fan. His parents, Denver and Annie Frances Goddard Pickard, preceded him in death.
His visitation was held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Ala., from 5-8 p.m. His funeral will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Ala., with Brother Mark Daniel and Brother Jonathan Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Bear Creek, Ala.
He is survived by children, Cheri (Mark) Atkins, Steve Pickard and Misty (Jonathan) Henderson; grandchildren, Allison (Brandon) Robinson, Anna Kimbrell, Larry Bradbury, Jerry Bradbury, Nick Atkins, Emily Bradbury, Travis Channell, Matthew Atkins, Lucas Atkins, Kennedy Pickard, Spencer Pickard, Christian Pickard, Emma Henderson and Lydia Henderson; great-grandchild, Lily Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pickard, Howard Goddard, Brandon Robinson, Wesley Lawrence, Travis Channell and Spencer Pickard.
