Albert Hugh “Al” Murray, Jr., 88 of Tuscumbia passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. Visitation will be Sunday, January 21st from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Marty Evans officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Al was a native of Saginaw, Michigan and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Ford Motor Company and the owner and operator of B & M Die Casting.
Al was preceded in death by his wife, Birtie Jean Murray; father, Albert Murray, Sr.; mother, Pauline Albrecht; sisters, Fran O’Connor Scanlon and Donna Albrecht; and beloved dog, “Auburn.”
He is survived by his son, Patrick Murray (Denise); daughters, Debra Murray-Brown, Colleen Meeks (Robert), and Laura Murray; grandchildren, Corey Hanson, Elizabeth Smith, Mason Murray, Jacob Murray, and Noah Meeks; great-grandchildren, Carter Hanson, Dylan Smith, Gemma Murray, and Pierce Murray; brother-in-law, Lee Albrecht; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Murray, Chris Smith, Rob Meeks, Del Mayfield, Corey Hanson, and Mason Murray.
The family expresses special thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff of Shoals Hospital.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Colbert County Animal Shelter.
