Albert Bela Dickinson, age 87, of Florence, peacefully passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.
Al and his wife Eva, were married for 61 years. They came to the United States in 1959 from Budapest, Hungary after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. After retiring from E.S. Robbins as a Mechanical Engineer, he worked at Sears in Florence for over 20 years. His career in the field of plastics spanned 35 years and included two patents. He was well respected by colleagues, friends, and his family, starting as an immigrant from Hungary who knew no English when he came to this country.
Preceded him in death were his parents, Bela and Etelka Debreczeni from Budapest, Hungary, and daughter, Shoshana Balke.
Survivors are his wife, Eva Dickinson; daughter, Bernadette Maria “Missy” Debreczeni; sister, Etel Smith; grandchildren, Marshall Roney, Avery Roney, Kristina Morris, Kevin Morris, Jennifer Weishouer, Rebekah Childers, Jessica Childers, and Joshua Childers.
