Obituary of Alan Earl CookAlan Earl Cook, 68, of Prospect Community, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, peacefully at his residence. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m. Joe Daniels and Scotty Stovall will officiate. Burial will be at Liberty Grove Cemetery.

He was a strong follower of Christ and a Deacon of Lupton First Baptist Church. A loving husband of 48 years and a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and motorcycle rider. He enjoyed early mornings and drinking coffee with his buddies. He was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School in 1975. He was a strong, silent, witty, and humble person and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Carroll Cook; sister, Theresa Cook, grandparents, Prima Sherer Adams and Kirby Sherer; uncles, Sanky Sherer, Aaron Sherer (Mildred); in-laws, Frank and Mildred Madison.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Cook; children, Mindy Stewart and Clint Cook; grandchildren, Caroline Pearl Stewart, Parker Alan Cook, and Joseph Eli Olive; mother, Sara Ruth Cook; siblings, Seconda Cook and Rhonda Lou Witcher.

Pallbearers will be Wade Clark, Buck McCollum, Adam Witcher, Korey Harris, Judson Aldridge, and Glenn Ferguson.

Honorary Pallbearer will be John Kimbrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Lupton First Baptist Church, 76 Ferguson-Keeton Rd. Nauvoo, Al 35578.
