Alan E. Stengel age 76 of Smithville and a former resident of Oregon, passed away Friday night, July 31, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born September 17, 1943. Alan was a U.S. Navy and Air Force Veteran with 14 years service to our country. He is survived by his wife, Judy Stengel of Smithville; step-daughter Julie (Darrin) Vincent of Smithville; step-grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria, Chandler and Taylor Vincent. Funeral services will be 1:PM Thursday, August 6, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in Keltonburg Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1:PM. A complete obituary will be announced on Tuesday.
