FLORENCE-Florence Arts and Museums is excited to announce its partnership with the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area to launch the Alabama Plants Series. Hosted by Summer McCreless, the second workshop in this series will provide an opportunity for participants to make herbal tea out of native plants. This event will take place on November 17th, 2024, from 1pm to 2pm at Pope’s Tavern, 203 Hermitage Drive, Florence.
This workshop follows by Summer McCreless, owner of Mothering Herbs and second-generation herbalist, as she teaches participants about different drinks created from native plants. The facilitator will demonstrate how different teas are created, and attendees will have the opportunity to taste different teas made from Alabama Plants.
The Alabama Plants Series is a set of six free workshops hosted at Pope’s Tavern Museum and sponsored by the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area. These workshops are meant to draw connections between Native American cultures, Alabama plants, and the products created by people that are rooted in early traditions. This workshop is free; to sign up for our Herbal Tea Making Workshop visit our Eventbrite: https://tinyurl.com/4rj34m4j
