TUSCUMBIA – The Alabama Music Hall of Fame, back in business after a new commitment of support from the State of Alabama, is determined to make its new lease-on-life a success. To get things started, the Hall of Fame has just announced plans for a Holiday concert.
Here’s what the News Release says:
“GET YOUR HOLIDAYS STARTED WITH A FLURRY OF FRIENDS AND LOTS OF FUN AT ROCKIN’ AROUND THE HALL HOLIDAY CONCERT ON DECEMBER 10, 2013 AT THE ALABAMA MUSIC HALL OF FAME.
Beloved Shoals area back-up vocalists Marie Lewey and Cindy Walker will perform ‘up front’, singing holiday favorites in a rare and intimate concert event “Rockin’ Around the Hall” on Tuesday, December 10th at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Affectionately known as the “Shoals Sisters”, Cindy and Marie have honed their harmonies over more than 30 years of singing together. Their sweet and soulful voices have contributed to countless recording sessions and concerts which includes performances in the stage band for the Alabama Music Hall of Fame Induction Banquets and with the Muscle Shoals All Star Band. Joining the Shoals Sisters will be renowned musicians Will McFarlane on guitar and other musical guests. “Rockin’ Around the Hall” will be the first in an effort to recognize the unsung hero of Muscle Shoals music,” said Dixie Connell, Manager of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
Two performances will be scheduled for the evening in the foyer of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. The first concert begins at 6:00 pm (doors open at 5:30).
