Alabama Health Guidance and Humana Insurance will Sponsor American Legion Post #11 of Florence, Alabama Open House and Veterans Appreciation Day

FLORENCE-On Friday, May 25th, 2018 The American
Legion Post #11 of Florence / Lauderdale County, at 318 South Court
Street, Florence, Alabama will host an open house and Veterans
Appreciation Day from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. This is a free event
sponsored by Alabama Health Guidance and Humana Insurance. All
veterans are invited to enjoy a free hotdog lunch, play corn hole, tour the
facility and receive information about available services. Drawings for gift
cards to local restaurants will be held every half hour, and the Community
Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will be on site to provide blood pressure
screenings. Each veteran in attendance will receive an American flag lapel
pin.
This event is focused on letting veterans know that their service is
appreciated and on making them aware of the many ways in which the
Veterans Administration can assist them in their daily lives. “The American
Legion supports our veterans in every way possible. We are proud that
Alabama Health Guidance is doing this free event for our local heroes,”
said Mary Day Smith, Adjutant, American Legion Post #11. Post
Commander, Bill Phillips added, “The American Legion is veterans serving
veterans. We are honored to open our building for this event.” For more
