Alabama Asthma Coalition to meet Feb. 22 in Huntsville

ala department of public healthThe Alabama Asthma Coalition is seeking participants from throughout the state, and invites interested persons, especially those from Huntsville and north Alabama, to join.

The mission of the coalition is “to provide leadership to improve health outcomes and quality of life by effective prevention, identification, and management of asthma through coordinated partnerships of public and private organizations.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

asthmaOne in 10 Alabama residents has asthma. The rates of asthma are increasing among both males and females, and in all age groups and races in Alabama.

The coalition has five subcommittees: Healthcare, Community and Schools, Environmental, Data and Surveillance, and Policy and Advocacy. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22, between 1 and 3:30 p.m. at Huntsville Hospital Corporate University, Dowdle Center, 109 Governors Drive SW, Huntsville, Ala. 35801.
