Al Keplinger – Obituary

Al Keplinger, 82, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Mr. Keplinger was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Fremont and Ella Iola Keplinger. He is survived by his half-sister, Beverly Davis, niece, Cynthia Worley and other relatives of Havana, Florida, and his wife, Martha Keplinger. Al was born in Hawthorne, Nevada.

After serving in the Navy, he graduated from San Francisco State College and received an MBA in Marketing/Finance with Honors from New York University. Al worked for Lockheed Martin and retired from TRW, now Northrop Grumman, in cost analysis and warfare technology in 1991. He and Martha traveled extensively after his retirement.

Visitation with a memorial service to follow will be held Friday, December 18 at 10 a.m. at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, 1306 Cannstatt Drive, Huntsville, AL 35803. Dr. David B. Freeman will officiate the memorial service.

Mr. Keplinger was accepted by the Anatomical Donor Program at UAB. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society Research, Alzheimer’s or Lewy Body Dementia Research, The Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 1805, Decatur, AL 35602, or Weatherly Heights Baptist Church.
