The airport, which offers the only commercial service to a major hub from this part of Alabama is enjoying increased boardings. The early success is due in no small measure to SeaPort Airlines. SeaPort came onboard a few months ago with its fleet of 9-seat Cessna Caravans. The carrier, which operates in several states, offers four flights daily to-and-from Nashville.

“I think they’re great,” said a Nashville traveler, who wanted to remain unnamed, “The planes are beautiful and comfortable. and I get to park my car here in Muscle Shoals for free. I don’t have to drive for a couple of hours to get to BNA airport for my connecting flights. And when I get back from my business out of town, I step off the plane, get in my car and drive 15 minutes to my house.”
