ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson has asked for the public’s help in locating suspects who robbed an individual this afternoon, Friday, December 2:
“This afternoon about 13:15 the police department received a call that an individual had been robbed at the McDonald’s on US 72 East. When officers arrived they located the male victim on the south side of McDonald’s. The victim told officers he saw an IPhone 6 on Facebook’s yard sale page for sale. He contacted the person about the phone and they were to meet at McDonald’s to buy the phone. He told investigators He was hit in the head with a pistol and the suspects took $250.00 cash from him. We’re looking for a black male and a black female both in there mid twenty’s. Both suspects were wearing all black clothing. The suspects ran from McDonald’s to Taco Bell where they got into a silver Hyundai Sonata 4door car. The car was driven by a third black male. The victim was treated by EMS personal and released.
