Agnes Ruth Madden, 87 of Arab passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Agnes was born September 1, 1934, in Blount County the daughter of Coy Smith and Ozella Earl Smith. She was a graduate of JB Pennington High School Class of 1952, a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was married 61 years to William C. “Jack” Madden at the time of his death January 4, 2014.
She is survived by Son: Steve Madden; Grandchildren: Cassandra Madden and Craig (Courtney) Madden; Great Grandchild: Blaiklyn Madden; Step-granddaughter: Savana (Kevin) Tucker; Sister: Ann Brown; Brothers: Charles (Barbara) Smith, Bobby (Diane) Smith and Ronnie (Sue) Smith. She was preceded by Husband: Jack Madden; Parents: Reverend Coy and Ozella Smith, Brother: Marlin Smith.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Ennis Stone, Brother Michael Lackey and Brother Steve Beam officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gober Funeral Chapel. She will also lie-in-state at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
