Agnes Ellen ParkerAgnes Ellen Parker, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2019. Ellen was born in Huntsville and graduated from Risen High School in 1949. She graduated from business college and joined the U.S. Civil Service. She retired from working at Redstone Arsenal in the early 1980’s.

Ellen spent her life in devoted service to her family and friends and had hobbies including crochet, cooking, and traveling. She married James T. Parker in 1954 and they moved frequently throughout the world as James served a career in the military.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Clarence and Jesse Certain; and siblings, Clarice (Hite), Phillip Certain, Roger Certain, and Conrad Certain. She is survived by her children, James Parker (Janice), Marilyn Willliams (Warren), Lisa, and Janice (Ronnie) Venable; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 am at Maple Hill Cemetery.
