WASHINGTON — On Monday, March 16, Congressman Robert Aderholt, (AL-04) released the following statement concerning his schedule for the district work period.

“You may have heard that the House of Representatives is in recess this week for a scheduled district work period.  I had scheduled several dozen meetings and tours across the district.  However, in light of the current recommendations for social distancing, we have canceled most of the schedule.   Instead, I will be conducting these meetings by phone and FaceTime if possible.

“Congress, working with President Trump, has already taken decisive action to combat this virus outbreak and these measures will continue in the coming weeks.  I encourage everyone in Alabama to continue to take those commonsense approaches, like frequent handwashing, wiping down surfaces and social distancing when possible.   If we take these actions now, I believe we can shorten the amount of time this virus is a threat to public health.”
