A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Adelaida Galarza Barrera, 79, will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Bro. Erick Chaney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barrera passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her residence. She was born Monday, December 16, 1946, in Mexico, to Lorenzo Galarza and Mercedes Romero Galarza.
Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family. She embodied a creative spirit and had a deep love for gardening, where she would often be found tending her flowers, and creating fantastical decorations to display in her garden and home.
She truly was the heart of her family and always held them tightly together like her trusty hot glue. The comforting aroma of her cooking let you know you were home, a tradition that went beyond simply feeding her family. It was her way of showing her love for her family. She was a strong and sassy woman whose quit wit and booming laugh could light up a room and lift everyone’s spirits, even if you couldn’t understand her (Particularly for the no Sabo grandkids).
Our legacy isn’t just in our memories, it is in the way we continue to live, create, and laugh as we come together around the table.

Daughter – Olga Leticia Barrera de Guzman (Oscar Guzman) and children – Ashleigh Carrie Owens and Alexandria Reagan Furgeson (Justin Kolohe Furgeson)
Daughter – Evangelina Barrera Foote (Jamie) and children – Hunter Grantland (Rebecca), Hawken Foote (Hana) and Holland Foote
Son – Gilberto JR Barrera, II (Tracy), and children- Brittany Barrera-Standridge (Jacob) and their son (Dominic), Blake Barrera (Cheyanne) and son (Walker), and Ethan Barrera (Gavin)
Daughter – Rosenda Barrera Kelsoe (Scotty) and children- Te’a Brown (Jonathan), Kobe’ Renee Eastman (Curtis), Talliah Ann Barragan (Anibal)
Daughter – Julia Evalina Edmondson (Justin Rex) and children- Isabella Wren, Kataleya Pearl, Rex Liam Perez Edmondson.
Pallbearers will be Blake Barrera, Ethan Barrera, Nicholas Barrera, Curtis Eastman, Austin Berrera, Hunter Grantland, Hawken Foote, and Anibal Barragan, Jr.
