Mrs. Ada Ruth Marks, 95, of Florence passed away on February 12, 2016 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Coffee High School in 1939 and she attended Florence State College. She was a life-time member of North Wood United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She held several office positions and she also taught Sunday School and Bible studies. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Greenview Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Scott Coats officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Tolbert W. Marks; father, Louie D. Hargett; mother, Abbie L. Copeland; brothers, Bruce, Charles and Louie Hargett; and a sister, Julia Melton.
Survivors include her daughters, Bobbie Jo Woods (Ron) of Florence, Susan Vicki Willis (Clyde) of Denham Springs, sister, Mildred Marks; grandsons, Johnny Grossheim, Travis Grossheim (Brooke), Andrew Willis (Elizabeth); granddaughter, Katherine Willis-Muller (Casey); great-grandchildren, Cora Willis, Makenzie Harlan, Brodie Grossheim, Sadie Grossheim and Raylan Muller.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to ECM Oasis and the 5th floor staff along with Dr. Hollis and Dr. Webb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Wood United Methodist Church.
