She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on May 25, 1968. She was born to the late Johnny Owen Goodlow and Dora Lee Ross. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Abby “Granna” worked as a CNA for many years. However, her hard work and dedication went to Hardin Medical Center Heath & Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed quality time with her family, especially her grandson, Sterling. She enjoyed shopping sprees in person and online. Recently, hermit crabs have been her new obsession.

Abby leaves her memories behind with her host of family: son, Leighton Ross of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Autumn Ross of Savannah, Tennessee; grandson, Sterling Ross of Savannah, Tennessee; special friend, Thomas “Chris” Justice of Booneville, Mississippi; honorary daughter, Laura Wright of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters, Mary Gilbert and Helen Ross, both of Savannah, Tennessee and Janice Chappell (Jimmy) of Michie, Tennessee; brothers, Johnny Goodlow (Daisy) , Ricky Ross, Terry Ross and Glen Oakley, all of Savannah, Tennessee, Gary Goodlow (Yvette) of Corinth, Mississippi, and Bruce Oakley of Dallas, Texas; Goddaughter, Haileigh Jackson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Godson, Cameron Burge of Savannah, Tennessee; and uncle, Charles Arthur Ross of Savannah, Tennessee. She also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins she cherished and loved deeply.

Along with her parents, Johnny and Dora Lee, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Sprague; brothers, Kenneth Oakley and Jimmy Goodlow; aunts, Maude Goodlow and Betty Jo Casey; and uncle, Billy Ross.
