COLBERT COUNTY-A group of Muscle Shoals music legends and some of the hottest up-and-coming artists in the area are teaming up for a Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 17 at historic Wishbone Studios.

The 2-4 p.m. concert, presented by Wishbone Studios and Colbert County Tourism, will feature Clayton Ivey, Billy Lawson, Travis Wammack, Mike Curtis, Coby Greer, C Tyler Jones, Kassidy McCorkle and special guests. It will be broadcast live online via stageIt.com for fans of Muscle Shoals music around the world. Admission is $20. Tickets are available at Colbert County Tourism and Convention Bureau, 719 U.S. Highway 72, Tuscumbia, or by calling 256-383-0783.

Wishbone Studios is located at 1920 Webster St., in Muscle Shoals – across from the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport.

Susann Hamlin, president and CEO of Colbert Tourism, said the concert is the perfect way to enjoy some great music and celebrate the holiday season with family and friends. With only 60 seats available, Hamlin expects the concert to sell out quickly. “Don’t wait to purchase tickets.”

Hamlin said many of the greatest hits ever recorded in the Shoals came from Wishbone Studios. She said Alabama, The Commodores, Darryl Worley, David Allen Coe, Alecia Elliott, B.J. Thomas, Shenandoah and Hank Williams Jr. are some of the artists who have recorded there.

Wishbone Studios is now owned by Billy Lawson, who is working to reestablish the studio, while preserving its musical legacy. Among the artists Lawson has already worked on at his studio are projects with Billy Ray Cyrus, Darryl Worley, Phil Driscoll, Sammy Kershaw and Willie Hightower.

Admission to the concert includes a tour of the studio.
