Clara Lee Sullivan Staggs, age 88, of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Monday, May 11th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Jackson Watts and Bro. Bruce Lowhorn officiating.
Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham with Eric Staggs, Shane Staggs, Hunter Staggs, Joe Higgins, Josh Butler, Josh Marriott, and Hunter Anderson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 10th from 2:00-6:00PM, and again on Monday beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Mrs. Clara was born on September 6, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Howard & Cora Lyle Sullivan. She was a retired accounting clerk after 20 years for the State of Tennessee. She was a big supporter of the Cub & Boy Scouts and served as a leader. She won the Long Rifle Award and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She played the piano at church for many years and traveled to many different places and especially loved Hawaii. She was a member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Staggs; and sister, Alberta Carrigan.
She is survived by her sons, Howard (Kelly) Staggs, Bubba (Cheryl) Staggs, and John (Emily) Staggs; sister, Minnie Baker; grandchildren, Rachel (Joe) Higgins, Eric (Crystal) Staggs, Caitlin (Josh) Marriott, Shane (Cayla) Staggs, Logan (Josh) Butler, Hunter Staggs, and Laura (Hunter) Anderson; 14 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
