John Randall “Randy” Lovelady (1951-2026)
Randy Lovelady passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 13th, 1951, he was known for his infectious laughter and endless humor, which brought joy to everyone who knew him.
Randy was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Guntersville, Alabama. Beyond his deeply held faith, Randy was a truly loving and devoted husband to his beloved Barbara. He was also a caring and supportive brother to Janice, a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Ciara (Sammy) and Tiffany, and a very caring grandfather to four children. He was also a devoted uncle to Jason (Mandy) Hurst, a wonderful great-uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a wonderful great-great-uncle to even more, all while remaining a loyal and cherished friend to many people throughout his life. Whether it was telling jokes to lighten the mood, hosting family gatherings filled with laughter, or simply sharing his deep love and faith for God, Randy possessed a remarkable ability to make absolutely every single moment memorable.
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8. He’s gone to be with his Heavenly Father, and there’s no more sadness or pain. His family and loved ones will be coming together to celebrate his life at a later date.
