Mr. Jackie Dale Brown, age 74, of the Union Hill/Morgan City community of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama passed away at his residence Sunday, May 3, 2026. Born January 3, 1952 in Morgan County, AL, Jackie was the son of Luther Delmus Brown and Mary Margaret Haga Brown.
Jackie was a member of Calvary Holiness Church. He enjoyed playing basketball at Union Hill School and spending time with friends. During his early adult years he owned and operated a barber shop. He was always interested in recycling and scrap iron, which led him to his primary business as owner and operator of B and B Recycling Center. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his community, always lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Jackie’s kindness and generosity touched many lives, and he will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to those around him.
Family members Jackie leaves behind to cherish their memories include his son, Michal Heath Brown; grandchildren, Damian Ash Brown and Aulden Kade Adams (Rylee); brother, Danny Wayne Brown (Gloria); sister, Theresa Jean Hoot; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jackie in death include his wife, Brenda Sue Shumate Brown; daughter, Jackie Dale Brown King; parents, Luther and Mary Margaret Brown; and his sisters Betty Carolyn Carey and Barbara Ann Atchley.
Services for Jackie will be Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City, AL. Family, friends, and guests will gather for a visitation time beginning at 12:00 noon. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm with Cory Morrow and Jonathan Brown officiating. Pallbearers escorting Jackie to his final resting place in Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan County, AL will be Chris West, Jonathan Brown, Steve Carey, Shawn Brown, Lynn Shumate and Danny West. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Donovan Case. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel are assisting with arrangements.
