Judy Kennedy Judy Campbell Kennedy, 83 of Arab, Alabama, passed away on May 3, 2026, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville. She was born September 21, 1942, to the late Erskin and Flossie Holaway Campbell. She graduated from Arab High School in 1960. Her Senior Class voted her Class Beauty and Friendliest. Judy attended Florence State College in Florence, AL, earning a degree in Education in 1963. She went to work for the U.S. Army Missile Command (AMCOM), Redstone Arsenal, AL, as a Civilian in 1963. She worked in the Supply Field as a Logistics Management Specialist, spending most of her career working with our Nation’s Allies in the International Logistics Directorate. She retired after more than 50 years of service.

Judy married Toxie C. Kennedy December 21, 1963. An Arab businessman, he preceded her in death on October 23, 2018. They liked to grow their own vegetables. She loved reading fiction and staying in touch with friends from all stages of her life. Judy had a profound love for animals of all kinds. She cared for many dogs and cats and was instrumental in finding homes for many others.

Judy is survived by son, Donald R. Roden (Betty), beloved caretaker Eunice Kennedy, and a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Scott Grimes officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Roden, Scott Grimes, Spencer Durham, Dewayne Shedd, Richard Wicker and James Willis.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Judy to the Second Chance Shelter, 130 County Road 398, Boaz, Alabama 35957.

Judy’s love and kindness touched many people. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
