Francine Witt Young, 79, of Florence, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center. Francine was retired from T.J.’s Manufacturing Plant where she served in various roles over the years.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 12-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Sonny” Young; parents, Clyde and Etta Witt; son, Chuck Young; siblings, Ruth Grigsby, James Witt, Vergil Witt, Ila Jean Wallace, Carolyn Wallace, T. C. Witt, Mary Sharp, and Betty Lou Olive.
Francine is survived by her son, Damon Young (Angy), Collierville, TN; brother, Danny Witt; sisters, Dorothy Green and Diane Cypert; grandchildren, Cole Young, Germantown, TN, Grayson Young (Haley), Collierville, TN, and Cade Young, Nashville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Francine was a lifelong resident of Florence, AL and the 10th of 12 children. She cherished her large family and shared a special bond with her brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted and loving mother to Chuck and Damon, a wonderful mother-in-law and dear friend to Angy, and the world’s best “Getmaw” to Cole, Grayson, and Cade. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did.
Francine had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cats, and well as her grand dogs and great grand dogs. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, spending time on projects and caring for her yard, which she took great pride in.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
