Steve Edwin McFall, age 73, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026. He was born on March 21, 1953, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital while his father was serving in the United States Air Force. Steve was the son of Kenneth Edwin McFall and Betty Parsell McFall, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Karen Lancaster, her husband, Jimmy, and step-son, Les Sockwell.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, whom he absolutely adored and with whom he shared many happy years of marriage. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values of faith, love, and dedication throughout his life. Steve devoted his life to ministry and faithfully served as the minister of Pine Hill Church of Christ. He had a deep love for teaching and preaching the Gospel, and his influence reached many through his words, compassion, and steadfast faith.

He was a loving father to his five children from his first marriage to Ellen: David McFall (Terri), Rachel Hardison (Richard), Daniel McFall (Stacey), Timothy McFall, and Sara MacNicoll (Sean), and a devoted stepfather to Heath and Drew Sockwell.

Steve was a doting grandfather and a proud uncle; he found immense joy in the lives of his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, celebrating their milestones with great pride. He and Deborah especially cherished time spent with family and friends at their camper along the Tennessee River in Waterloo, Alabama. Those gatherings were filled with laughter, fellowship, and lasting memories. He was an enthusiastic fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football and Atlanta Braves baseball, rarely missing a game and always enjoying the camaraderie of his teams.

Above all, Steve loved his family. His life was marked by devotion, faith, and a genuine care for others that will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his children and their spouses; his brother, Scott McFall (Becky); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A legacy of faith, love, and service remains in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12-2 p.m. at Pine Hill Church of Christ, Waterloo, AL. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
