Lura Jean Cooper, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Shanghi Cemetery, the visitation will be from 11:30am until 12:30pm at Bell Sumiton Chapel. Bro. Wayne Ferguson will officiate. Lura Jean was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church. She was known for her loving heart, kindness, giving nature, a little stubborn, and adventurous spirit. She traveled all over the United States, and enjoyed God’s creation. She loved God and Jesus with all of her heart to her very last breathe.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Everett and Katherine Wadsworth, siblings; Allen, Shirley, Brenda, and David.
Shirley is survived by cousins; Rev. Lonnie Wadsworth, Jana (Jeff) Gaither, Sandra (Phillip) Salter, Debbie (Andy) Russo, Donnie (Jeannie) Wadsworth, Joseph (Amy) Thomas, best friends; Don and Denise Henderson, sister in law; Belinda Wadsworth, and a host of relatives; Nephews; Robert Morris, Scott, Brett, and Bo Wadsworth.
