Allan Frences PorterAllan F. Porter, born on May 9, 1945, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was one of eleven children born to the late John A. Porter and Bertha A. (Boulay) Porter.

Allan moved to Middle Tennessee in 1992, where he built his life and career, and had been a resident of McMinnville, Tennessee since 2020.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career as a truck driver, retiring after more than 40 years on the road. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family, as well as his sense of humor and sarcasm.

In his free time, Allan found joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and golfing, and could often be found sitting in the sun enjoying a quiet moment. He also had a deep passion for music and a natural ear for it, something that brought him great happiness throughout his life.

Allan was predeceased by his siblings Agnes Boutwell, Joan Collins, and brothers John Porter Jr., Robert, David, and Charles Porter. He is survived by his brothers James Porter and Mark Porter, as well as his sisters Lorraine Poole and Mary Rickel.

He shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cheryl Porter. Together, they built a loving family that includes their two children, Tom (Anna) Porter and Paula Porter. Allan was a proud grandfather to Meghann Hidenfelter (Ethan Foster), Samantha Paquette, (Thomas Batista) and Katelyn Paquette, and a cherished great-grandfather to Landen Bunch, Hudson Foster, Carson and Kayden Chen, and Isla Batista.

Allan will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the outdoors, and the quiet strength and kindness he carried throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We want to extend our greatest appreciation to River Park Hospital and their team who provided exceptional care during his final days.

The family has decided to hold a small celebration of life at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Warren County TN Animal Shelter. 169 Paws Trail McMinnville, TN 37110 (931) 507-3647
