Mary E. Smith Profile Photo Mary E. Smith, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. Born on April 26, 1947, Mary lived a full and dedicated life marked by unwavering commitment to her family.

Mary’s professional journey was marked by more than 40 years of devotion to ITT, where she contributed her talents and dedication. Her steadfast work ethic set an example for those who knew her both inside and outside the workplace.

A passionate supporter of sports, Mary’s enthusiasm was especially vibrant when it came to any activities involving her son, grandchildren, and the local teams. Her loyalty to Alcorn Central High School basketball and baseball was well known and often celebrated, reflecting her deep-rooted love for community spirit and family involvement.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Neal Smith. Together, they shared a beautiful partnership that spanned decades and provided the foundation for a close-knit family. She is survived by her son, Travis Neal Smith, Jr. (Lisa); her grandsons, Josh Smith (Paige), Jacob Smith (Emerald), and Jonah Smith (Colby); as well as her great-grandson, Deacon Smith. These family members carry forward her legacy of love, dedication, and spirited support.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Allie C. Glidewell; father, William C. McCoy; brothers, Charles McCoy and Harold McCoy; and sisters, Betty Holley and Peggy Hamlin. Their memories remain a cherished part of her enduring story.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mary’s life at Magnolia Funeral Home – East, located at 2024 Hwy 72 East Annex, Corinth, MS 38834. Visitation will take place on April 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Bro. Terry Smith will perform the service.  Pallbearers will be Travis Smith, Josh Smith, Jacob Smith, and Jonah Smith.

Mary Smith’s warmth, dedication, and spirited support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She remains in the hearts of her family and friends, who continue to celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Ms. Mary E. Smith.
