Charles Dewayne Dobbins, age 60 of Carbon Hill, passed away peacefully at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Dewayne was born to Mark and Martha Dobbins on November 3, 1965. He was the oldest of four sons.
Despite facing numerous challenges, Dewayne never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living his life fully. Dewayne’s greatest memory was on the ballfield with his daughter in her earlier years. His family will remember him as a man that could rebuild anything, from remodeling a building to replacing a new roof. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was an avid Crimson Tide football fan, he looked forward to the beginning of the season. Over the past five years he had accepted Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Pocahontas Cemetery. Brad Pruitt will officiate.
Mr. Dobbins was preceded in death by his Father-Charles Mark Dobbins; Grandfather-Author Dobbins; Grandmother-Pearl Dobbins; Grandfather-William Henry “Bill” Manasco; Grandmother-Sylvia Manasco; Brother-William Michael Dobbins; Uncles-William Thomas Manasco and Donald Joe “Don” Manasco; Aunt-Helen Marie Manasco; Cousins-Crystal Pruitt and Simon David Manasco.
He is survived by his Mother-Martha Ann Dobbins; Daughter-Stephanie Dobbins; Brothers-Jimmy Dale Dobbins and Billy Joe Dobbins; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mack Manasco, David Manasco, Darren King, Devon Guthrie, Hayden Blackwell and Randy Lee Manasco.
