Miss Nadine C. Lawson of Hazel Green, Alabama passed away on Sunday. She was ninety-two.
Nadine loved to be outside, whether it was gardening, mowing the lawn, or picking blueberries. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking, and traveling. She was a graduate of Ambrose School in Ambrose, Georgia. Miss Lawson was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Hazel Green.
Most of all, Miss Lawson will be remembered for her love of her community, especially the children, which was evident in her work for the schools as a cafeteria manager. She was loved by the children and staff of Walnut Grove School where she served for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey B. Lawson; her daughter, Kim I. Wolf; her parents, Alfred and Velma Carver; and her siblings Grace, Wilma, Odie, Milton, Buddy, Vernon, and Donnie.
Surviving family includes her children, Barry Lawson (Karen) and Darrell Lawson (Donna); her grandchildren, Nathan Lawson (Courtney), Amber McCann, Brittany, and Holly; her great-grandchildren, Lori, Logan, Dax, Aveya, and Brooke; her sister, Geneva; and her son-in-law, Wayne Wolf. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Benny Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
