Glen Eugene Julien, 96, of Hazel Green, Alabama, was born on April 11, 1930, in Minnesota and passed away on April 19, 2026.
Glen married the love of his life, Sharon Hodgman Julien, in 1955. Together they shared 70 years of marriage, a lifetime built on devotion, partnership, and unwavering commitment to one another.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Julia Olsen Julien; his brothers, Roger and Dewayne, his sister, Eunice; sister-in-law Ann, brother-in-law, Randy Hodgman, and his mother‑ and father‑in‑law, Kenneth Hodgman and Alli Tuomala Hodgman.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hodgman Julien, daughter, Kim Madewell (Rickey), and his son, Gene Julien (Kim). He leaves behind his grandchildren: Stephanie Roncone (John Wallace), Chelsea Madewell (Jesse Melton), Adam Taylor (Shannon), Lucas Madewell (Madison), Jesse Julien (Kayla), Crystal Julien, Brittany Thompson, and sister-in-law Mary Julien.
Glen was blessed with many great‑grandchildren: Colton (Taylor), Christian, Cameron, Anniston, Cali, Georgia, Peyton, CJ, Scotty, Olivia, Paisley, and Lincoln; as well as one great‑great‑granddaughter, Linley Roncone.
Glen proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. During his service, he was selected as a Presidential Honor Guard and later served as a Mounted Patrol Officer, as well as a Police Officer after his time in the service — roles that reflected his discipline, dedication, and deep sense of duty.
Above all, Glen was a loving husband, brother, father, and “Grampa.” His steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering love will be forever cherished by those who knew him.
