Mrs. Patricia Bryan passed away on the night of Saturday, April 18th in the presence of her family. She was born February 24th, 1947, in Athens, AL to Cullen and Nan Sims. She graduated from Athens High School, then earned an education degree from Athens State College. She played volleyball for Athens State as well as on women’s league basketball and softball teams. She taught special education for 34 years at Elkmont, Neel School, and Hartselle Jr. High School.
A devoted wife to Billy W. Bryan of 55years, she was an avid homemaker and cook for her family. Earlier in life she enjoyed playing Rook on weekend nights with Billy and her parents, and Scrabble with her mother for years. She enjoyed reading books and novels, crossword puzzles, crocheting, cross stitching, making her own Christmas ornaments and decorations, and displaying them for family and friends to see. She loved all Holidays but especially the Christmas Season. She decorated each room in the house, setting up village displays, and making sure each room had a unique tree to highlight it. Her family was her life, being the most beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, anyone could ever have. She always had special games and fun for the grandkids and loved attending all the school events and functions she could. She was always their biggest fan.
Mrs. Bryan was a lifelong faithful Christian who was always “in” the Word of God up until the last days of her life. She enjoyed studying from her David Jeremiah Commentary Bible.
She faithfully served the Lord at First Faith Church of Falkville for 40 plus years playing the piano as well as singing solos and serving the church in various ways as a faithful member.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother and various other close brother and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her Husband, Billy, her two sons, Shane Bryan (Libby), Brett Bryan (Hollie), Granddaughters, Gracie Griffin (Connor), Brea Bryan, Grandsons, Bryce Bryan, Jebb Bryan, and Great Granddaughter, Lucy Muriel Griffin. One Brother, Joseph Sims (Patsy) Sister, Carlan Sims (George), Sisters-in-law: Peggy and Dean Nelson, and Sondra Bryan. Brothers-in-law: Alfred Bryan (Linda), Keith Bryan, and Ronald Jones.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel, Bro Mike Free officiating and Peck Funeral Home Directing. Visitation time will be from 11:00 AM until Service time. Her burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens following the Services.
Pallbearers will be Bryce Bryan, Jebb Bryan, Connor Griffin, Joshua Bryan, Tim Nelson, and George Hamby.
