Carol Ann Key, 74, of Huntsville, AL passed away on April 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith that touched everyone who knew her.

Carol was born on March 2, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in the small town of Sonora, Kentucky. She left home to attend Western Kentucky University and, after college, pursued a career in Nashville, TN. There she enjoyed playing on recreational softball leagues and teaching Sunday school in her spare time. During that season, she married Joseph Chamlee and lived in various cities in Tennessee and Georgia before settling in Huntsville, Alabama in 1987 to raise their two daughters. Carol was a wonderful at-home-mother when the girls were young and a frequent volunteer at the church and school. She later worked as an administrative assistant at Whitesburg Christian Academy, a job that brought her much satisfaction, and then for Dynetics and Huntsville Hospital.

In 2012, Carol married Charles “Charlie” Key, and they spent joy-filled years together doing what they loved most: traveling, fishing, camping, enjoying one another’s company and spending time with their 6 grandchildren. She was an active member at Farley Community Church where she enjoyed leading a Life Group, teaching ladies Bible classes, volunteering at Vacation Bible School, and serving in any way she could.

Carol is survived by her husband, Charles Key, of Huntsville, AL; her daughters, Laura Debiasi (Marcus) and Megan Mills (Charles) both of Hoover, AL; stepdaughter, Stephanie Key (Michael) of Owens Cross Roads, AL; and 6 grandchildren, Benjamin, Levi, and Gabriel Debiasi, and Jessica, Charles, and Rebecca Mills. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee Fulkerson and Norma Elnora Fulkerson of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

A visitation will be held at Farley Community Church on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm.  A private graveside service will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
