Darlious Homer Reece, born March 3, 1942 in Del Rio, Tennessee, on his beloved mountain, passed away in his home in Decatur, Alabama, on April 15, 2026. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 1:00PM with Dr. Josiah Peeler officiating and Jimmy Reece speaking, at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be at the Chapel from 11:30AM – 1:00PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his father, Darilous Clifford Reese; mother, Anna Lavada Messer Reece; brother-in-law, Jack Stokely, and his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Ruth Keyes Reece.
He is survived by four brothers, Vasey Reece (Barbara), Jimmy Reece (Beverly), Randy Reece (Sherry), Eric Reece (Robin Lynn); three sisters, Edna Stokely, Annie Norwood (Rod), Diane Bible (Kenan); two daughters, Annette Ikard (Tim) and Karen Jones (Richard); one son, Steve Reece (Angie); seven grandchildren; Allen Ikard (Stephanie), Brandon Reece (Logan), Brian Reece, Danielle Peeler (Josiah) Anna Lasch (Kyle), Candace Ikard, and Will Ikard (Kaila); and 20 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Reece, Richard Jones, Tom Ikard, Allen Ikard, Will Ikard, Brandon Reece, Brian Reece, and Kyle Lasch.
In Lieu of Flowerss, please make donations in his memory to Shriners Children’s.
