Nora Rose Malone, age 9 of Fort Payne, passed away on April 14, 2026. She was born on October 14, 2016 in Birmingham to Jacob & Katie Norrell Malone.
When Nora was prenatally diagnosed with Trisomy 13, she wasn’t suppose to live a minute, hour, day, week, month, or year, but God continued to work in her life and allowed her to spend 9 beautiful years with her family. Throughout her life, God used her in mighty ways as she consistently reminded the world that His strength is made perfect in weakness. Now she has finished the work He had for her here and returned home to hear her Savior say: “Well done my good and faithful servant. Welcome Home.”
Funeral Mass for Nora Rose will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2026 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with burial following in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her parents, Jacob & Katie Malone; brother & sisters, Rhett, Sophie, Molly, and Lucy Malone; grandparents, Charles & Diane Norrell, David Malone and Detha & Heath Johnson; great-grandparents, Carol & Gerald Don Laney and Brenda & Joe Holloway; Aunts & Uncles, Melissa & Robi Coker and Mara & Jordan Oliver; and several cousins.
