April 15, 1947 – April 9, 2026
Betty Charlotte Bunch Yorks, age 78, of Readyville TN passed away surrounded by her family and entered the Lord’s Holy Kingdom on April 8th.
Betty was born on April 15, 1947 in Yakima, WA to her loving parents James Ezell Bunch and Marie Hand Bunch of Sunnyside Wa. and Big Cove, AL. Betty was one of four children. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, older sister Judy Bunch Dawson, brother in law Anthony “Bo” Owens, and nephew Micheal Owens.
Betty spent her early years in Sunnyside, WA and moved her family to Big Cove, AL after dedicating her life to the Lord. Later relocating to Smyrna, TN where she was a devoted member of the Smyrna Holiness Church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was known for her love of natural beauty and art.
Betty is survived by her sons Thomas Yorks of Readyville, TN, and Brian Yorks (Elizabeth) of Smyrna, TN. She was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren: Andrew, Brandon, Briana, Macey, and Olivia Yorks. Betty is also survived by her sister Reta Bunch Owens and brother Donald Bunch (Debbie).
Additionally, she leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Debra Hanson (John), Ralph Dawson, Jason Hamilton (Crystal), Shawna York (Terry), Stacey York (Greg), Kyle Bunch (Tracy), Lisa Bunch (Heath) and Travis Owens, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Betty dedicated her life to her family and the Lord. She enjoyed sharing the natural beauty in the world God created with others. She spent much of her time drawing and painting and enjoyed making arts and crafts with all who visited her.
A brief memorial will be held graveside at Green Valley Cemetery in Big Cove, AL. on Friday April 17th, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Flowers and condolences may be sent to New Hope Funeral Home in New Hope, AL.
