Mary Louise Holcomb Gilbert, 78, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at her home. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville, Mary taught Sunday School for many years and was deeply committed to homebound ministries.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14th from 2 – 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rogersville. Funeral service will follow at the church with James Waddell officiating. Burial will be at Hurricane Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Gilbert, Barry Holcomb, Clay Smith, Jake Tarpley, Adam Thompson and Bo White.
Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her parents, Caswell and Nell Holcomb and her husband, Ray Gilbert. She is survived by her children, Leigh (Alvin) Poss and Steven (Ann) Gilbert; grandchildren, Trae Poss, Samantha (Clay) Smith and Sydney (Jake) Tarpley; Quadyn, Bo, Linda Leigh, Gunner, Colton, Arlie and Riley; siblings, Carol (Donnie) Bergin, James (Patsy) Holcomb and Jimmy (Clarene) Holcomb; numerous nieces and nephews.
