It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ron Bray, who departed this life on April 4, 2026.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a true pioneer in his community. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to serving others as a paramedic, becoming the very first in his county to hold this vital role. Through decades of unwavering commitment, he answered countless calls for help, offering care, compassion, and hope in moments when it was needed most. His work helped shape emergency medical services in the community, and his legacy will continue to impact lives for generations to come.

Above all, Ron was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughter, Kelley (Jeremy); his granddaughter, Addison (Andrew); his grandson, Conner; and his great-grandson, Whit. He found his greatest joy in his family and cherished every moment spent with them.

He will be remembered not only for his groundbreaking service and dedication to others, but also for his kindness, strength, and steady presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Honorary pallbearers are his esteemed colleagues of Highlands Emergency Medical Services, who were his brothers and sisters in service.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Service starting at 1:00 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Scottsboro Animal Shelter.
