Mollie Thomas Edmondson, age 96, of Geraldine, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.
Born on September 9, 1929, Mollie lived a long life rooted in faith, family, and love. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the devotion she showed to all who knew and loved her. A lifelong member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Mollie’s faith was a guiding presence throughout her life and a source of comfort and strength to her family.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Brenda) Edmondson; grandsons, Brad (Mandy) Edmondson and Blake (Jessica) Edmondson; great-grandchildren, Jaren Edmondson, Carson Edmondson, Emily Edmondson, Destiny Cornelius, and Jessie Cornelius; sister, Sarah Edmondson; sons-in-law, Gerald Rains and Ronnie Rains.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Barnes Edmondson; her daughter, Patsy Edmondson Rains; her parents, Atha and Ruth Thomas; and her brothers, William Thomas, L.P. Thomas, Maurell Thomas, Charles Thomas, Joe Ed Thomas, and Wayne Thomas; sisters, Johnnie Brown, Rebecca Rogers, and Frances Allen.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at New Harmony Baptist Church, with visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The service will be officiated by Morris Stephens, Brad Edmondson, and Blake Edmondson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Albertville Health and Rehab and Shepherd’s Cove for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund.
