Joel Lee “Joey” Guthrie, 63, of Florence, passed away on March 21st, 2026. Born on June 7th, 1962 to Onnie Lee Guthrie and Betty Jean Joiner Guthrie, Joey was known for his sense of humor, love for life, and kind heart. He was passionate about motorcycles, hunting, and fishing and loved his family deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onnie Lee and Betty Jean Guthrie, and his son, William Burger.
He is survived by his son, Dillon Lee (Kaitlyn) Guthrie; his grandchildren, Mason, Charlie, and Aela; two great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen (Belina) Guthrie; sister, Sherry (Chris) Buttrey; nephew, Steven Guthrie; nieces, Emilie and Katie Montgomery; great nephews, Carson, Carter, and Jensen; and great nieces, Kyndall, MaKynna, Blakelee, and Rylee.
A balloon release will take place at McFarland Park on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 at 4:30 pm.
