James F. Bates, 74, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Lauren Schurfeld.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Martha Bates.
He is survived by his brother, Gordon Bates (Margaret); sisters, Becky Jackson, Cindy Lynn, and Barbara Brady; nieces and nephews, Jeff and Chasity Jackson, Audrey Lynn, Justin Lynn; cousins, Al and Chris Smith; his devoted caregiver and dear friend, Kendra King.
