Kathy Privett was born Kathy Lenice White in Crockett county Tennessee on October 20, 1946 to Murrell and Willie Sue White and was raised from infancy in Lauderdale county by Will and Katherine Lawrence, the people she called Daddy and Mama. She passed peacefully from this earth on March 21, 2026.
Kathy graduated from Halls High School in 1964, married Benny Voss, and had two children, Venita Voss Garnett (Jim) and William Richard Voss (Natalie).
Kathy later married Larry Joe Privett, a union that endured until he preceded her in death just last year. The two were loving grandparents to Rachel Conway (Venita) and Michael Voss (Richard), and saw five great grandchildren into this world.
Kathy was a member of the First Christian Church in Halls, where she sang solos and played the organ for years. Kathy worked at a number of local businesses over the years including Tupperware, Allen Stone Box, and Ripley Bean and Junk before going back to school to study nursing as had been her dream in youth. She completed her LPN program and worked as a nurse in both public and private settings until diminished capacity due to dementia cut her chosen career short.
Throughout her life, Kathy worked hard and took loving care of her family until her family took care of her. She is, thank God, free.
Graveside services will be held at Halls Cemetery at 11:00 am on Friday March 27. All friends are welcome.
