Timothy Carey BowenTimothy “Tim” Carey Bowen, 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his home in Pontotoc. A hardworking man from a young age, he picked up a measuring stick as soon as he could and spent over 50 years working in the family sawmill with his brother and nephews. Over the years, he took on many roles—logger, sawmiller, equipment operator—and his favorite, farmer. For more than 15 years, Tim was an active member of Springville Baptist Church, serving as song director and Sunday School teacher.

Tim was known for his kindness and willingness to help others, never meeting a stranger. He cherished spending time with his family, whether it was fishing, hunting, exploring flea markets, or cooking. Tim’s love for his family and his dogs was evident to all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Bowen Pratt (Ben) of Bruce; his sister, Penny Bowen Cermack; his brother, Tony Bowen (Helen); his grandchildren, Emma, Anna Beth, and Noah Pratt; his nephews, Andy, Casey (Tiffany), and Toby Bowen, Thomas (Nhi), Bowen, and Sam Cermack; and his great nephews, Blayze, Weston, and Rivers Bowen.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Bowen, and his brother, Tommy Bowen.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 2PM at Oak Forest Cemetery with Pastor Joey Swords officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday evening from 5-8PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc and again on Tuesday afternoon from 12-1PM at the same location.

Pallbearers will be Andy Bowen, Casey Bowen, Toby Bowen, Thomas Cermack, Bowen Cermack, and Sam Cermack.
