Steven Patrick WolfeSteven Patrick Wolfe, age 78, of Hartselle, formerly of Double Springs, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Born on March 20, 1947, Steve lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family. He graduated from Winston County High School in 1965 and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970, including service in Vietnam.

Following his military service, Steve began a distinguished career with the Alabama State Troopers in 1975. Through years of commitment and leadership, he rose to the rank of Captain before retiring in 2007. His career reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity.

Steve deeply loved his family and was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Kilgore Wolfe; daughters, Suzanne (Brandon) Lack and Stefanie (Chris) Wallace; grandchildren, Connor Wallace and Haylie Lack; sisters, Joanne (James) Stephenson and Sheila (Harold) Reece; brother, Scott (Mary) Wolfe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Hollis Wolfe and Clare Wolfe, and his sister, Pamela Wolfe.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation in Steve’s honor.

Steve will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
