Dorothy “Dot” Carson, 94 of Arab passed away peacefully on Saturday March 14, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. Dot was born May 3, 1931, in Cedartown, Georgia the daughter of James Columbus Hamrick and Sally Fennell Hamrick. She and James L. Carson shared a remarkable marriage that spanned seventy-three years. Their union began on March 14, 1953, and continued faithfully until the day of her passing, marking a lifetime of devotion and partnership together. She was a member of Warrior Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Dot was an accomplished entrepreneur in painting, stained glass, ceramics and fabrics. She operated the Daisy Patch and Fashion Fabrics for many years and was an accomplished teacher of many young students in Art Classes. She enjoyed her work immensely and leaves many works that generations to come will cherish.

She is survived by her husband: James L. “Jim” Carson; son: Lynn Carson (Allen Sims); sister: Betty (Milton) Smith; grandchildren: Colleen Carson, Kathleen Carson and Jason (Robin) Carson; great grandchild: Hayden Nichole Carson; daughter in law: Sheila Carson; host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings and son: Mike Carson.

Graveside Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Warrior Creek Cemetery with Brother Greg Stone officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Family and friends will gather at the fellowship hall following the service for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
