Peggy Ann Ticer Young, 87, of Florence, passed away March 13, 2026. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ with David Highland and Brad Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Boyce Young.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Young and their infant daughter; her parents, Dave and Irma Ticer; brothers, Bobby Joe Ticer and Montie Wayne Ticer; and niece, Cheryl Ticer South. Survivors include her daughter Jill Young Brooks and husband Robert; her daughter Amy Young LeCroy and husband Trey; and her son Bradley Edward Young and wife Jennifer; and grandchildren Collin Daniel Brooks, and Coleman Edward Young all of Cloverdale, AL.
Other survivors that she could never forget were her precious sister-in-law Frances Ticer
Palmer, and her children, Pam Poole, (Greg); and Phillip Ticer, Jenny.
Peggy grew up in Waterloo, AL and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1956. Then, she went on to Larimore Business College in Florence. Peggy worked at the former E.C.M. Hospital in Accounting. Later she went to work at the former Colonial Manor Hospital.
Once starting their family, Peggy chose to stay home with her wonderful children. At this time she opened Cloverdale Florist where she made beautiful floral arrangements for many weddings and other special occasions. Peggy and Boyce were so happy to be able to live close to all 3 of their children and grandchildren.
She loved working with her hands whether be in the yard with her flowers or with VBS at church.
She was always willing to do what was needed to be done. She also loved her grand fur-babies, Remington and Turbo. They were crazy about her as well.
Active pallbearers will include: Tommy Stacy, Terry McFall, Tommy Condrey, Greg Poole, David Wallace, Collin Brooks, and Coleman Young.
Charles Jones and Roy Lynn Jones (1st cousins to Peggy) and Charles Condrey (Close friend of the family) will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Mama’s caregivers: Leanne Scott, Tori Parr, Selena Smith, Samantha Crider, and Martha Wood. We would also like to thank Hospice of North Alabama for the help you provided our mom during this time.
